Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 18, 2026
DFWDB (“we,” “us,” or “our”) helps Dallas–Fort Worth families discover communities, events, and trusted home service providers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use DFWDB, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Profile preferences — the cities you follow, your family details (such as kids’ age ranges and housing status), and the interests you select during onboarding.
- Quote requests — the project description, location, and contact details you submit when you request a quote from a home service provider listed on DFWDB.
- Communications — messages you send to us through contact forms, email, or support channels.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data — pages you visit, content you save, search queries, time spent on pages, and interactions with features.
- Device and log data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and referral URLs.
- Cookies and similar technologies — used for authentication, preferences, analytics, and personalization. See “Cookies” below.
How we use your information
- Operate, maintain, and improve DFWDB and its features.
- Personalize the content, recommendations, and home service matches we show you, including ranking models that use your preferences and on-site activity.
- Connect you with home service providers when you submit a quote request.
- Send transactional emails (account notices, quote confirmations) and, with your consent, marketing emails about events, content, and offers.
- Analyze trends, measure performance, and develop new features.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
How we share your information
With home service providers
When you submit a quote request, we share the information in that request — including your contact details and project description — with the service providers you ask to be matched with. Those providers are independent businesses and will handle your information under their own policies.
With our service providers
We use third-party vendors to host the site, send email, process analytics, and provide security. These vendors only receive the information they need to perform their work and are contractually required to protect it.
For legal reasons
We may share information if we believe it is necessary to comply with law, protect our rights or property, prevent harm, or respond to a legal request.
Business transfers
If DFWDB is acquired, merged, or sells assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or material change in how your information is handled.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your personal information to advertising networks or data brokers.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes: keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences, and measuring how DFWDB is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site may not work as intended without them.
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where applicable as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information.
Your choices
- Access and update your profile information at any time from account settings.
- Delete your account from account settings or by contacting us. Some information may be retained for legal, security, or backup reasons.
- Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing message. Transactional emails (such as quote confirmations) will continue.
Children’s privacy
DFWDB is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Parents who use DFWDB may provide age ranges for their children to personalize event recommendations — this information is about the child but is collected from the parent. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us directly, please contact us and we will delete it.
California residents
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request a copy or deletion of that information, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of any sale or sharing. We don’t sell personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
Data security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide DFWDB, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you by email or through a notice on the site.
